(Shown here jumping 3'9" for the first
time, July 2009.) Taz is a very special
guy.... He is that rare package that has
all the talent you'd ever desire, all
paired with one of the best brains
you'll ever find. He is talented enough
for the professional or upper level
aspiring young rider, yet kind enough to
pack inexperienced riders around 2'. His
generosity and forgiving nature make him
a blast to ride, and a partner who'll
warm your heart and earn your trust and
admiration. Taz's athleticism is shown
in his terrific, lofty jump with
impeccable form over fences and very
tight front end. He is catty and
careful, brave and kind. Soft in the
bridle and all three phases in a snaffle
without even a running martingale. When
we need an extra, this talented young
man is even willing to moonlight in our
lesson program! Jumping Beginner Novice,
Novice, and some Training Level courses
with great natural form over fences. He
is a star in new places---happily
jumping courses even with lots of
company, and stayed quiet and
workmanlike. Loves to jump. He should
move up easily---really loves his job
and has been started correctly right
from the beginning. What a wonderful
boy!! He's a talented, willing prospect
for any discipline. He has shown
successfully at combined tests and horse
trials... Great at shows, quiet and
workmanlike and gives 110% to his rider.
He has traveled to new place for XC
schooling and shows and has a GREAT
brain paired with a tremendously nice
jump and plenty of talent. Very quality
horse. Placed a terrific 7th at the
Flying Cross HT in May 2009 at Beginner
Novice, of 17 horses. 39 in dressage,
jumped double clean in SJ and on XC to
finish on dressage score! June 2009:
Finishes 3rd at Beginner Novice at
Champagne Run Farm HT, finishing on his
dressage score of 34.1!!! Team CEO HT on
June 28, 2009: On Saturday, Taz ran his
first Novice level horse trial, and boy
was he brilliant! 38.0 in dressage,
double clean on XC, just one rail in
show jumping. Finished in 5th place in a
tough division of terrific horses! Then,
on Sunday, one of our students borrowed
him for her very first time in the Green
Starter! It was her first ever dressage
test, and they finished a strong 2nd on
their dressage score of 30.0! This horse
is the most special combination of
talent and brains!!! ~~~~ July 09:
Competed at Flying Cross Farm HT in the
Open Novice. 35.0 in dressage, one of
very few double clean show jump rounds
in division. A beautiful XC round clean
with no jumping faults and loved every
minute! A little rider miscalculation on
the time picked up 9 speed faults (oops)
or he would have been 6th, but Taz was
amazing everywhere and a real star. What
a great brain he has!
