Paketo is a 9 year old grade pony. My
10 year old daughter had ridden him for
the past 3 years. She has shown him in
WSCA games, and has been to the MN WSCA
Champ show. However, he has become very
stressed in show situations, and has
recently developed some bad habits in
the show arena. He never offers any bad
behavior at home or during lessons, only
during an actual competition, so we are
pretty sure it is show nerves. For this
reason, we are offering him for sale as
a trail pony. He absolutely loves the
trails. He loves being with the other
horses, and is the best trail horse we
have. He is not a beginner pony, as he
has a LOT of speed. If you ask him to
go, he will GO!! It is unfortunate that
he gets so anxious in the show arena,
because he is fast and he can turn on a
dime. His favorite thing in the world
are little girls, and we would love to
see him go to a home with a little girl
to love him and pamper him. He's a real
cutie. A great and loving home is a
MUST. There will be many tears when
this little guy leaves our family. The
only reason we are selling him is
because my daughter is a gamer, and she
needs a gaming horse, and our space is
limited. If I had more acreage, I would
keep him forever.

UPDATE: We sent Paketo to a
trainer for a few weeks and changed the
way we were running him during shows. We
took him to the WSCA Champ show in
September and he did great! He took 8th
place in Pet Pony Poles, and it was not
the best he can do. He ran a nice
keyhole pattern, but didn't place as he
was running in the PeeWee classs against
much larger horses. With some patience
and work, he could still be a great
gaming pony. The trainer thinks he is
missing a few steps in his training. He
does need a strong rider who will be a
strong leader for him. He does much
better when my daughter is feeling
confident!
