Attention to all horse lovers.
The
best of intentions were put forward to
help this abused gelding. We gave him to
a young lady in Alexandria with the
agreement that he would be returned to
us in the event that he did not work out
for them.Something did happen with Slew
and instead of being returned to us she
let him go to a local horse trader who
is known for having dealings with
selling horses for slaughter.Although he
is a registered Thoroughbred,a local
rescue refused to take him due to that
had not raced.
We just recently
found that he had been sent to a feed
lot possibly in Michigan or Kentucky
awaiting slaughter.
If we had means
to rescue him from this situation we
would.
I have no way to purchase him
back.
We had no intention whatsoever
for this gelding to be put in harms
way.
We only wanted a better home for
him being that our facility is too small
and finances would not allow us to give
him the absolute care & training
needed.
If you are looking for a good
home for your horse be aware to ask for
references,have them sign a
contract! That could be one way to insure
a safe home for your beloved equine. This
young lady was very convincing and
saying he would be a great "winter
project" and that she always wanted a
horse just like him.
Please forward
this to anyone you feel may be able to
help,Sincerest Thanks Crystalgatefarms
