Sunny is a 14 year old Appaloosa mare.
She is 14.2 and is varnish roan (similar
to grey) and in great health. She will
be getting her annual shots within the
month, is up to date on worming and
having her hooves trimmed, we keep her
barefoot and she does wonderfully, but I
would recommend shoes if you'll be
riding on the rocks a lot.
Sunshine's Pride is trained
western, english, cart, or bareback.
We focused on primarily speed
events western and she rides in the AA
time catergory for CGA gymkhanas. I have
a folder of all of her times if you're
interested. She is very calm and will
enter the arena on a loose rein and wait
patiently for the ride to start. She
does not get "psycho" and is good for
newbies to gymkhana. I rode her in her
first gymkhana 2 weeks after I bought
her and she was great.
She will
do a nice calm jog and relaxed lope
western, but we've been riding english
lately so it's something a couple of
training rides would have to remind her
of. She knows neck-reining and all of
her verbal and leg and seat cues.
We recently began riding english
and she is doing very well. She will
jump up to 3'3" free, I've done about
2'6" on her (I'm new too). She is
currently ridden in a hollow, loose ring
O-ring but is fine in any snaffle you'd
like to try.
She is trained
single and double in cart, but I have
never driven her double so she will
definately need a refresher course. A
refresher course is recommended unless
you're experienced drivers, she hasn't
been driven in over a year or 2.
I can ride this mare bareback
and bridleless. She has excellent ground
manners and will stand stark still as I
throw tarps and other scary things right
onto her back without me even holding
her. She will follow me around on cue
and will jump if I point at the jump and
then return to me.
She has been
used for lessons in the past and is good
for a consistant rider. Most importantly
she needs to find her person to bond to,
I've had her for 6 years and she is like
a puppy around me.
