***NEWS FLASH*** Diamond Jim
has just returned from a 3 day venture
at a dressage show. He was
exceptionally well behaved and brave
while he schooled in both the indoor
and outdoor warm-ups in all gaits.
This was a big show for a youngster:
construction, spooking horses, flapping
tents, over-night stabling, thunder
storms, you name it! Now he's ready to
show with you!
Diamond Jim is a
4 year old, gorgeous,17hh, bay,
Hanoverian gelding. He was started
under saddle late November of 2008 and
has progressed very well with his Grand
Prix dressage trainer. He is now being
introduced to jumping in addition to
the Training Level dressage work he
handily performs. He can leg yield at
the walk and trot, show a nice lengthen
of pace, and work in a frame throughout
all three paces. His walk is clearly
four beat with marvelous over-track,
his trot is light and elegant, and his
canter is simply a treat to ride!
Over fences Diamond Jim is showing
good form. He brightens when he sees
the fences, and although at an
introductory level, both Event and
Jumper pros who have ridden him feel he
has potential, and a great ability to
learn. As a youngster, he did some
free-jumping work at his breeder’s,
Windswept Farm.
In addition,
“Jimmy” is hacking both solo and with
other horses. He is ridden indoors and
out, lunges well, bathes, hot shoes,
trailers, and is very well behaved in
the cross-ties. He turns out with a
small group of other geldings, and is
quiet to handle. He is a very sweet
and personable horse who thrives on
“people time”.
Diamond Jim’s
sire is Delaurentis, whose own sire and
lineage boasts three Grand Prix
dressage horses: De Niro, Donnerhall
and Caprimond! Delaurentis’ jumping
style is hunter-type. “Jimmy’s” Elite
Mare was sired by ES Magic, from where
his jumping ability comes, who in turn
has the refining presence of Matcho.
The bottom lineage boasts another
dressage superstar: Feiner Stern.
