Traveller is an INCREDIBLY sweet,
strikingly beautiful horse. He is
Sorrel with a white star on his forehead
and a gorgeous flaxen mane & tail. He
is a big guy with a big engine, so even
though his temperament is fantastic, he
is not suitable for a beginner. He is a
more experienced rider's DREAM!!!! His
ground manners are spectacular - he
never crowds, backs beautifully (off the
wiggle of the lead line), disengages his
hindquarters at the point of a finger,
and stands calmly while tied.
My teenaged daughter rode him in
Yosemite this past summer, and he did
great on the trail. He crossed water
nicely and didn't pull to get back to
camp.
As for showing and
dressage, I suspect that Traveller was
used for this in his past (we don't know
his history). We are trail riders, but
he seems to move off cues used in
dressage. If you are looking for a
prospect for dressage or jumping, he has
a ton of potential. We had a highly
respected Saddlebred trainer take a look
at him and he was impressed with how
Traveller moves and his potential for
showing. I wish I could tell you more
on this, but I know nothing about the
field!
My daughter is heading off
to college and isn't riding much, so we
are anxious to reduce our herd (hay is
expensive!!!). We are open to any
reasonable offers. If you have any
questions, please call Kerry at
559-903-8393.
