JD stands
15.1HH and about 1200 lbs. He is 13
years old, is built like an 'Old Style'
Morgan, and a beautiful chestnut with
only a small snip. JD is not spooky, is
the type of horse that you can drop the
reins and he will still either lead, be
in the middle, or at the rear of a trail
group. He is also excellent to take out
alone. JD walks out nicely, has a
comfortable jog, and a decent lope.
I have taken JD to 2 horse shows
in 2009 and he did well but is happier
out doing a job where he gets to think
more. I have sorted cattle on him,
thrown a rope a few times, done some
barrel racing and pole bending, and
started some reining maneuvers. I bought
him from John Scott’s movie horse line
where he was used to round up
wild-horses, Calgary Stampede parade,
and was in several movies.
JD is
easy to load/haul, shoe (hot shoeing),
worm, vaccinate (UTD on WNV only),
saddle/bridle. He has a scar on his left
rib but has never affected his ability
or soundness. He is the type of horse
that can go all day and never tire out
or get sore. He goes in, thru, or over
anything I have exposed him to including
tarps, poles, rocks, hills, rivers, etc.
Even though he is a broke trail horse I
think he would be able to perform better
under an intermediate to experienced
rider. JD would be best suited to a
ranch or trail riding home.
