Ebony is a 9 year old black breeding
stock APHA mare that we bought 4 years
ago to use as a hunter pony broodmare.
She stands as a nice large at 14.1
3/4ths hh.
We had her sent to
training for 90 days to give her the
basics, but then have used her solely as
a broodmare since, so if bought as a
riding pony, I HIGHLY recommend
retraining as I'm sure she's forgotten
some, but it should come back easier
than training new.
Her colt was
foaled 5/27/09 - no problems with the
delivery or since.
The sire of
her colt is a silver bay tobiano paint
pony stallion standing 12.1hh. Her colt
is eligible for paint pony papers
(APHR), but NOT APHA. This baby looks
to get mom's height (looking at his
cannons). Two full siblings should
reach a tall medium. All three of her
offspring have excellent show potential
(looks & movement) - the oldest is 2
this year - and we don't send them to
training till 3, so they are not yet
started under saddle. They can be seen
on our premises.
Due to our kids
growing up and moving on, we are
offering Ebony for sale with her colt
for $3500. At weaning (4 months), the
colt can be purchased alone for $1500.
Ebony could be purchased alone for $2500
- however, if she doesn't sell soon (or
a deposit for later), we plan to breed
her to our buckskin QP stallion this
year (we gelded the silver bay stallion
to send him out to training/sale). As
of this date she's open - so free to be
bred to the stallion of your choice or
to be sent back into training to have a
riding pony.
Ebony's ground
manners are superb - grooming, worming,
farrier, etc... She does get very
protective with her foal the first
couple of days, but then settles fine.
Under saddle she was still green, though
did ok on a couple of group trail rides
we did with her prior to breeding. She
stables or pastures and is mid-herd in
our pecking order.
She is up to
date with worming and shots (EWT + WNV),
but would need a new coggins if the
buyer wants one or is out of state.
We can deliver within 5 hours
(one way) of our farm. We can also
accept credit cards via
paypal.
Feel free to e-mail with
any questions - or come to our farm to
see the two of them in person.
