NANTUCKET He is an oldie but goodie with
plenty of good riding left in him!!!! He
is a horse that LOVES people. We rescued
him from a horrible situation and he has
been forever grateful. The best thing
about him is his soulful eyes. Nantucket
is a thoroughbred, never raced. He is
estimated to be about twenty years old.
He is a handsome, stocky dark bay. He
has a club foot but is sound on it. He
only wears front shoes. He is a former
school horse. He seems to know a little
of everything. He is not a jumping
candidate but loves to pop over an
occasional log on the trails. We still
ride him and he seems to adjust to the
ability of the rider. My 11 yr old son
(who does not ride) has ridden him in
the ring and on the trails and a friend
of ours who does dressage got on him and
was able to do some dressage although
she said he was rusty. He has been sound
and healthy since his rocky start. His
teeth are somewhat worn so we supplement
his grain with Hay Stretcher. He has the
most laid back temperament and loves
people, kids and treats. Great for
farrier, vet and clipping. Trailers
great. Not afraid of traffic, ATV's,
dogs or farm animals. He would be great
for someone who wants to just get on a
horse without all the work and go out on
the trails or as a companion for another
horse. Would want him back if it didn't
work out!
