Smokey is his nickname. He is broke for
trail. He does best when lunged first
and ridden on a consistent basis. My
confident 8 yr. old daughter currently
rides him and my 10 yr. old niece who is
a novice rider. I ride him maybe once or
twice a week. We have too many horses
boarded and need to cut back. My kids
ride him in the indoor arena and outdoor
when the weather permits. He does best
with an intermediate rider who has the
ability to collect him and slow his
canter. We have taken him camping at
Silver Creek Falls several times
throughout the years. We purchased him
from the barn we board at and have had
him for 5yrs. He is sure footed, goes
through the water and is pretty calm.
He's sound, clips, does good with
farrier, bathes, trailers nice, and
ties. No vices-just stubborn sometimes
in the arena when asked to work. He
sometimes does a small crow hop and
swishes his tail, but both the kids who
ride him get him past this quickly. He
is pretty willing and accepting. Youtube
