*Update* My 12yo has been working with
Reeces and he is really improving. He
comes when called and loves to be
brushed and nuzzled. Now that he is
getting more attention his
biting/nipping attempts have
disappeared. She has been riding him
around the 1 acre pen with no trouble,
but hasn't been back on the trail yet.
He is a very sweet boy who just needs
some time and attention to reach his
full potential.
Reeces will
make a great horse for a intermediate
rider. He needs an experienced hand to
show him who's boss. For the last year
he has been the first horse of a 12
year-old girl. He had some bad
behaviors that were greatly improved
when he was being ridden daily. But we
lost his companion to colic and he is
bored without her, coupled with the fact
that he is ridden infrequently now, and
the bad behaviors have returned. He
tends to buck/rear when first taken out.
He may try to bite when you catch him
to saddle him. He likes to lead on the
trail, but she had worked him out of
that when he was ridden frequently.
He has a very smooth canter and
holds his head in that beautiful Arabian
curve.
He is not a bad horse,
he is exhibiting some behaviors that
need work but I know he will come out of
them quickly with some patience and
experience. He has great endurance too.
He will make someone a terrific
companion, if you have the time and
ability to take him in hand.
Easy
keeper, barefoot. Stands for the
farrier, trailered okay the last time we
tried - about 9 months ago.
Price: $ 500
