Brios Kiia is a 2003 few spot leopard
mare that is 14.2hh. She has been
steadily getting more spots with age. I
have found ten new ones so far this year
and she is not even done shedding out.
She is VERY well started under saddle
and has all of her basics down. She will
go through water even when there is a
dry place to go around it. She will
gladly go through thick under brush in
the woods and is very sure footed on
steep rocky terrain. She will go out of
her way to jump even the smallest of
logs on the trail that she could easily
step over. I have not had her out on the
trail by herself yet, but she has no
problem with going in the opposite
direction of the other horses. She does
still get a little impatient when tied
for a long time and will pull back just
to check. She will let you pick up her
feet to clean them out , but will still
get impatient with the farrier until she
gets to know him. She was roped by a
man as a yearling to be wormed and
suffered a serious rope burn ( no
scaring) , and as a result is still
fearful of men until they prove that
they won't hurt her. She does not bite,
kick, and i have never seen her buck or
rear. Her trailer loading has improved
dramatically since i have had her and
now takes about ten minuets to load (but
we are still working). She WILL NOT load
for a man. This amazing mare has learned
all of this being ridden twice a month
at best and handled twice a week since
she came back from thirty days at a
trainer last February. and acts like she
gets ridden every day, every time i take
her out. i would deffinately put an
advanced beginner on this mare. With
someone who has time to ride her more
often and the desire to show in any
disipline this mare will take you on to
do extraordinary things! She is going
back into training next week so her
price will go up next month.I am selling
her because my son has proven to me that
the older they get the less time you
have for horses until they go to school.
he will be turning one next month and
runs me ragged. Email me for pictures
