**Update: Phoenix is pending placement
and is out on trial-- but please contact
us or check out our other horses who
need homes!
Phoenix is a
bulldog-built grade QH golden
champagne-colored mare. She is a
wonderful, willing horse who needs a
firm, but gentle leader. She is really
well built and does great on trails.
She's had a history of neglect from her
previous life years ago, but has been
pampered and loved for many years now.
She was ridden in competitive trail
classes and used to work other horses on
the rudimentary level, but has been
lolling on pasture for a bit now.
Though she is completely sound and
sure-footed, she has no real interest in
fast work and-- though she'll go along
if encouraged-- would much rather stroll
down a trail than run around a barrel.
She's being offered for adoption because
she's not currently being used and is
truly too good of a horse to not be
utilized. She can be pushy with a
beginner, so she's being offered as an
intermediate or above horse to someone
who can maintain consistant boundaries
with her. A least-resistance method of
handling in a good home is required for
Phoenix as, for the past 6 years, this
is the only type of handling she's had
and responds to it very well. She also
has a 17" A-fork custom made for her
western saddle that is also available to
go with her for an additional cost.
