Spirit is a 15-16 year old American
Saddlebred that I got from a rescue
recently. He does not act 15 in ANY way!
He acts like a 5 year old! He would be
an AWSOME jumper if someone put the time
and effort into him. He gets jumping and
enjoys it he just needs to learn how to
space himself. Sometimes he'll over jump
and sometimes he'll jump too late. He
has excellent head carriage and works
well with a snaffle. He could go just
about any way you want him to. He is
gorgous Saddleseat and Western but
enjoys Jumping most. When asked to go
saddleseat he pulls his head up and
holds it high and proud as every
Saddlebred does. I think he would do
well in Country Pleasure at smaller
shows due to no papers. He would be a
good canadate for an advanced academy
rider. He has that forward motion that
jumpers have but can slow down and go on
trails when wanted. He is great on the
trail and enjoys it. He will follow but
defenatly prefers to lead! :D He prefers
being in the pasture with a few friends
rather than in a stall with no buddies
and only a jolly ball. He works best
when he is outside. He is VERY sweet and
has that playful go to him. He is the
first to greet you in the pasture and is
always checking for treats in your hands
but never bites. He is a very willing
and brave horse. He loads and trailers
great he stands for the farrier and
takes shots well. I haven't had problems
with colic out of him. He is great with
little small kids on the ground. I think
Spirit would make a great flat hunter
horse. He just needs time and patience.
He is very willing and wants to please.
I think he would do best with one or two
friends. Spirit needs a new home. E-mail
