"Butterfly" is stunning mare that is
highly bred, with 13 Broodmare Hall of
Fame dams in her 5-generation pedigree.
She has a lovely disposition, as we have
spent every single day with her since
the moment she was born. She loves
people and will run across the field to
greet us. She is extremely intelligent
and eager to learn new
things.
Butterfly's dam, Burning
Passion, was only a few points away from
"CH" status in the harness division
before she started her breeding career
with us. She has unbelievable
motion...even at 17 years of age.
Butterfly's sire, Harlem's P.R.
Man, whom we own, is a gorgeous 17H
black five-gaited stallion with TONS of
natural motion, who lists a whopping
TWENTY-TWO BHF dams in his own pedigree.
Butterfly has got talent; it's on both
sides of her pedigree...and in her
heart.
Butterfly is very
people-oriented. We are looking for
someone who loves to spend time with
their horse; not just "show up and
ride." She's going to be so much more
than "just a show-horse," or a backyard
horse that never gets any
attention...Butterfly needs to be part
of a family. With her inherited motion,
she will be able to go in any direction,
whether saddleseat, or pleasure,
competitive trail, dressage, or
endurance...you just pick the
discipline.
Butterfly is not
currently under saddle. Please do not
let that sway you from her. Our horses
are handled from day one using only
natural techniques that do not involve
fear and intimidation. She stands easy
to have her feet trimmed, and her hooves
are sound, solid and beautiful. She is
barefoot and has nice concavity to all
her feet and well-developed frogs. She
has a very balanced natural movement
that is to die for; it's almost like she
floats across the ground. Her dam moves
exactly the same way, so we have no
doubt where it came from. She is easy to
worm and vaccinate, and will come and
drop her head to have a halter put on.
If she gets caught for going over and
trying to steal her younger brother's
food, she'll walk right over to me with
her head down and a "Oh, I'm sorry..."
expression on her beautiful face. She is
very sensitive that way, and we are
looking for someone who can appreciate
that in her. In the right hands, that
type of horse will give you her whole
heart.
Butterfly is not going to
be a large mare. She is proportioned for
her size, and will probably remain
around 15.2H. She has a powerful
shoulder and hindquarters, and a
well-placed neck, making her a good
candidate for 5-gaited.
She
already has a great maternal instinct,
and will no doubt we a wonderful mother
someday. We have inlisted her help in
weaning foals, and she takes her "job"
very seriously. With her pedigree and
interesting color background ( black
sire/ chestnut sabino dam), she will be
a color producer as well.
We
welcome you to come and visit our farm
and meet Butterfly, as well as the rest
of our herd. We are, however, very
particular to whom our horses go to. If
you do not like personal questions about
your finances, dedication/committment
levels, references, and such, then
please do not contact us about
Butterfly. We owe it to our horses to
work in their best interest, and do not
mind at all in keeping them right here
with us if the right person with the
right qualifications does not come
along.
And please...if you are a
dressage rider, do not contact me asking
for a thousand measurements on
Butterfly; she is not perfect. You are
more than welcome to come and measure
Butterfly for yourself, and I will
happily provide a measuring
tape.
